A Lush Orcas Island Wedding full of Greeney at Pebble Cove Farm
Orcas Island is a magical place. It has that wind-blown, PNW island feel, with rugged and gorgeous beaches, northwest native forests and hiking trails, golden farmland, and a whole lot of charm. Being there just feels good. Give us a chance to travel to Orcas for a wedding, and you better believe we will jump up and say "YES PLEASE!" Especially for clients as incredible as Rowen and Justin, whose summer wedding on Orcas Island was as beautiful as it was heartfelt.
For this wedding, we set out to create floral designs that felt native to the space, and also like they added an additional layer of magic to the already gorgeous setting. We didn't want to take away from the natural beauty and feel of the space, but did seek to augment what was there, and set the scene for an unforgettable experience. To do this, we used lots of greenery, as well as neutral-toned blooms that echoed the colors naturally present in the surroundings. Vineyard chairs and neutral linens created additional layers of rustic, yet elegant charm- a look that felt very much at home on the island.
Rowen and Justin's ceremony design included low arrangements and vines on the aisle chairs, a visual frame that left the beauty of the water and mountains visible behind the couple. My favorite piece from this wedding was a 24-foot long floral and greenery chandelier that hung over the entire length of the head table- truly a showstopping centerpiece for the whole tent. It was wonderful to hear the comments of guests as they entered the tent: "Wow, this is INCREDIBLE!" "I've never seen anything like this!" "I feel like I'm in a movie!" Best and most important of all, Rowen and Justin were thrilled with their flowers, and had a beautiful, meaningful wedding day, surrounded by the people they love most. Enjoy!
