A Thornewood Castle Wedding with European Flair, and Romantic and Earthy Florals

We've designed a number of weddings at Thornewood Castle, and it is truly a treat to work at such a gorgeous venue. It is also a fun challenge to work in the same venue multiple times, while envisioning the space differently based on the unique style of each of our couples. Stephanie and Ted wanted a lush, earthy, and romantic vibe for their summer wedding at Thornewood Castle. To achieve this, we worked with a neutral color palette incorporating white, cream, taupe, and the softest shades of blush, with earthy accents of burgundy and chocolate, all set amongst a backdrop of seasonal greenery. Large floral arrangements in neutral tones framed the ceremony aisle, and were later brought inside the castle, framing the beautiful fireplace where the couple and guests danced into the night. We added lots of glowing candles around the fireplace as well to play up the romantic, festive and glowing vibe. Flower selections for this wedding included roses, phlox, chocolate cosmos, dahlias, rosehips, hydrangea blooms, unique textures like orach and ninebark seed heads, and seasonal greenery- the best of late summer! Congratulations Stephanie and Ted!

About the Designer:

Botanique is a full-service floral and event design company based in Seattle, WA. Led by Creative Director Kelly Sullivan, we design wedding flowers and events with an organic, effortless, seasonal, elegant, and modern aesthetic for couples getting married in Washington state and beyond, including the greater Seattle area, Tacoma, Lakewood, Bellevue, Kirkland, the San Juan Islands, the Eastside, and Eastern Washington.
