An Intimate Wedding at Canlis Restaurant in White & Green

Just over a year ago we had the pleasure of designing the flowers for this intimate wedding at Canlis Restaurant. February can be a challenging time for local flowers- there is just not a lot blooming yet. BUT- there was one special thing from the cutting garden that we got to work into Katherine's bouquet- the delicate blooming branches of spirea, which is always the first thing to bloom every year. They added a beautiful, airy quality when combined with the white ranunculas and roses that made up the base of her bouquet, plus some jasmine vine to add more movement. As for the centerpieces... another favorite winter trick was employed here- reflexed tulips! This is one of my favorite ways to work with tulips, as it totally transforms how they appear. When you reflex a flower, you essentially turn it's petals inside out- this can't be done with all flowers, but can be done with some, including tulips and roses. When worked with in this way, they almost look tropical, or like a water lily to me. Either way, they are beautiful, and make such a statement! See if you can even tell which flowers are the tulips when you see the images below!

Happy anniversary to K + J! We loved creating this modern and architectural spin on a classic look for you!
